TO CONTINUE OUR WORK FOR UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS AND THE DEMOCRATIC RULE OF LAW

The last Congress, held from September 1-3, 2016, in the Penitentiary Institute of Rebibbia in Rome (the first Congress of a political party to take place in prison) set the objective of 3000 new members in 2017 and 2018, to ensure the “life” of the organization and continue its mission. If this objective is not reached, the organization will automatically cease its activities.

This means closing down 62 years of nonviolent action for the affirmation of universal human rights and the democratic rule of law around the globe.

It means renouncing to the General Consultative Status at the United Nations, a platform key to the voice of minorities and oppressed peoples in the world.

It entails the end of the only truly transnational and democratic organization in the world that is open to the participation of each and everyone, irrespective of nationality, gender, political opinion or religious belief; offering each and everyone of us the possibility to engage in meaningful political action across borders.

In case of achievement, the next NRPTT Congress will be convened within 6 months from reaching the objective with the proposal to continue its nonviolent action around the world for the affirmation of your right to know, for the affirmation of your human rights, for the affirmation of a democratic rule of law everywhere.

At this Congress, in accordance with its Statute, every member is invited to participate, to take the floor, to make proposals for the activities of the subsequent two years. Every member can present him or herself to be part of the governing bodies for the following two years, and every member has an equal vote in the decision-making process. Unlike individual members, the governing bodies of the organization are bound by the decisions taken by the Congress.
